The Online Work Area is an extension to your current website that allows you to create projects (both internal and for clients) and then upload files to folders within those projects.
Once the files are in the work area they are secured and regularly backed up by the system and are available to share with clients or publish online.
Store any digital files you have, of any size.
Using a clever upload widget, you can drag and drop your files and folders straight into the site for automatic uploading.
Uploading files to folders within projects automatically organises your files in a simple, intuitive manner.
By default, any files you upload to the work are are for your eyes only, but with a couple of clicks you can share individual or groups of files with other people on the system. These people can be colleagues, clients, vendors - in fact, anyone you care to invite to join. They will be notiifed of the new files they have access to and be given a link to get straight to them for downloading.
Collaborate on files once they are shared to other people. Anyone with access can make comments on files and upload their own files to the same folder.
Large files can be distributed with ease to anyone on the Internet. No need to send anything via email or CD/DVD again. There are three main techniques for distribution:
1. Sharing files (as above) for people who you need to collaborate with
2. QuickSend for immediate delivery to anyone with an email address. Send emails with that are guaranteed secure and get notified when they have been read. Set the emails to expire after a given time for extra security.
3. Making files "public" in order to publish files on a website or content management system, or allow downloads from a newsletter.
Get notified when people have downloaded the files you have shared, or made comments on them. Or browse the sharing information for a file and see who has downloaded the file and when.
You will also be notified if a person uploads a new file to your folder, and if it is subsequently deleted.
Different types of notifications you receive can be turned off if you find them unnecessary
A simple web address can be given to anyone on the Internet to allow them to upload files to you, even if they are not registered on the work area. They will need to use your email address for security and then use the upload widget to send their files to you.
